Welcome from our Principal
Dear Brooks DeBartolo Students and Families,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education! I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-one years. Ten of these years were spent here at BDCHS. My most recent administrative experience was in Hillsborough County Public Schools where I served as an Assistant Principal in a middle school. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
On a personal note, I am a proud third generation Tampa Native and currently reside in Lithia. My oldest son graduated from BDCHS in 2012 and served eight years in the United States Navy. My daughter graduated from BDCHS in 2014 and completed her bachelor’s degree at UCF in 2016. I had the privilege of meeting my youngest son when I began as an administrator in a middle school five years ago, later adopting him out of foster care when he was at the age of sixteen.
I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn more about the uniqueness of each of your students. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I work under the philosophy that everything we do in our school should be done with the best interest of our students in mind. I will work together with teachers and staff to continue the legacy of success established by BDCHS by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners.
All of us at Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever. This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and build relationships while making real-world connections. As your Principal, it is important to me that every teacher, student, and parent who steps through our doors are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.
