Phoenix Action Crew (PAC)
Phoenix = We are ALL Phoenix – students, families, faculty/staff.
Action = We are all about action – acts, effects, influence, etc.
Crew = A group of people who work closely together – friends, family.
All BDCHS parents/families are members of the BDCHS PAC. This group is key to strengthening the school community. Their efforts include facilitating communication between school and home serving as a means for helping parents/families to actively participate in their children’s education and school. Parents and families are encouraged to get involved; there are many ways to go about doing this.
PAC coordinates activities and events such as luncheons and breakfasts for both students and faculty. They oversee one major fundraising event a year working closely with the school’s administration and Development Committee. The PAC holds scheduled workshops/town halls for all BDCHS families for school and PAC updates, and includes guest speakers. These presentations provide parents and families with education and assistance with parenting in today’s world and connecting them to their teen’s school life. This year’s PAC meetings will be held in the BDCHS cafeteria from 6:00 – 7:15 pm; workshops/ town halls dates include (dates are subject to change):
Tuesday, September 25 – PAC Parent Workshop
Tuesday, October 23 – PAC Town Hall
Tuesday, January 15 – PAC Parent Workshop
Tuesday, February 26 – PAC Town Hall
Tuesday, May 7 – PAC Town Hall
PAC assists in providing and organizing a parent volunteer structure for fundraising efforts, special events, meetings and other school related activities as requested by faculty and Board. Parents are urged to sign-up as a participant or chair of one or more of the designated PAC committees (18-19 PAC). Other opportunities will be made available throughout the year and communicated via SignUpGenius. This year’s committees include:
