The Phoenix Fund
As a Hillsborough County Charter School, we operate as a nonprofit – a 501(c) 3. Funding received from the State of Florida is limited and less than what traditional public schools receive. It is necessary for fundraising to take place in order to meet our school’s annual budget and goals. BDCHS works hard at sustaining its mission to be a model collegiate school offering high quality education with broad and rigorous educational programs, equipping our students for academic achievement and post-secondary success. To do this, the school must generate funding on an annual basis from grants, sponsorships and fundraising efforts from students, parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty/staff, Board and community partners.
The Phoenix Fund is the annual giving program for BDCHS; this is the school’s primary fundraising initiative. The monies raised through this fund help to provide a superior education directly impacting student learning. It specifically provides the following support on an annual basis:
- Instructional resources and materials
- Educational development tools
- Equipment for classrooms, athletics, performing arts, and media center
- Technology upgrades
- Club and athletic support
- Student assistance program
- Faculty professional development/training
- Facility improvements
(This is not an inclusive list; this list is subject to change as needs change.)
The partnership with each of our BDCHS families, community supporters and staff make the difference for not only our students but for the future of our school. Your support is critical to our school’s continued success; we encourage you to participate in the Phoenix Fund by making an annual gift.
BDCHS families, faculty/staff, and the community can help provide support to the Phoenix Fund through a variety of ways:
- “Phoenix Fund Rising”
- The Phoenix Nest: the BDCHS Annual Giving Society
- The Phoenix Walk
- BDCHS Investment Sponsorships and Scholarships Program
- BDCHS Wish List
With the support of our families, partners, and donors, we can ensure our students will continue to receive a quality Blue Ribbon, A Grade education. We thank you in advance for your support of The Phoenix Fund and for being willing to make a difference in the lives of students and teachers at Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School.
